Scale invariant variability in NGC 4051.
Abstract
A 62 hour observation of NGC 4051 with EXOSAT reveals large amplitude variability on all timescales. The power spectrum shows 1/f noise. This means there is no preferred timescale or luminosity gradient, throwing into doubt the meaningfullness of earlier interpretations of AGN variability.
